A fabulous piece of Lalique history. A beautiful peach-toned Lalique crystal Cat Face brooch, fully bezel set in solid Sterling Silver. The cat brooch was introduced in 1990 by Marie-Claude Lalique and was her first crystal brooch design, beautifully styled in the form of a cat’s face. This peach crystal example is finely carved and softly frosted, with light reflecting from the solid silver backing to enhance the sculptural detail and expression. The full silver bezel setting provides both strength and definition, with a solid silver reverse clearly hallmarked LALIQUE. The crystal edge carries the engraved Lalique signature, followed by the registered design mark (R) and France, delicately inscribed. To the rear is a secure French roll-over clasp in excellent working order. The brooch presents beautifully, with a gentle age patina to the silver and no damage or losses to the crystal.
