A fabulous Suffolk oak longcase clock, a beautifully preserved example with wonderful local craftsmanship. The case is topped with an elegantly carved pediment and three brass finials, giving the clock an impressive and traditional presence. The oak case remains in original condition, featuring a long trunk door complete with its original lock and key.cThe clock boasts a first-period painted Japanned dial, exceptionally well executed and decorated with a stunning bird and floral motifs. It retains its original pierced hands, enhancing its authenticity and charm. The birdcage movement has been fully serviced in our workshop and strikes the hours gently on a bell. With lovely proportions and strong visual appeal, this is a truly desirable example of a Suffolk longcase, ready to take pride of place in any home.
