A charming pair of vintage Mexican Sterling Silver butterfly earrings, delicately decorated with silver beadwork and Opal cabochons to the wings. The Opals display soft flashes of colour, adding subtle contrast against the rich aged silver patina. The butterflies are finely detailed, with a balanced and elegant design typical of early Mexican silver work. One earring is clearly hallmarked STERLING above MEXICO, dating the pair to the 1930s–1940s, prior to the introduction of the Eagle assay mark in 1948. All in excellent condition, with a natural aged patina consistent with the period.
