2-4 Cups French Press Coffee Maker Cafetiere – 600ML – 4 Level Filtration System, Heat Resistant Borosilicate Glass with Stainless Steel Filter, 21 oz/600 ML

This cafetiere / french press works very nicely. The glass container is protected by a plastic surround that has a cut-out window, so you can see the liquid inside. I’m not sure that it’s possible to get the glass out for cleaning, but the inside of the vessel is as easy to clean as any other arrangement. There’s a small “chunk retainer” kind of grid / filter on the lid part that seems unnecessary given that the gauze on the plunger will have held back any grains of coffee far smaller than that, but it’s not a problem, provided you turn the lid so the grid openings are lined up with the spout.The fit of the plunger is perfect, and the plunging action correspondingly easy and smooth without coffee grains escaping past it.The kit came with a coffee scoop, which I guess is nice, but also comes with a spare gauze, which is excellent. I bought this to replace another make (posh, French, one) because that gauze had torn after a decade or so of service. The barrels of the two are the same size, so I was also able to repair the other cafetiere.Very happy with this, for much less money than others.Edit: Well, I dropped this yesterday. Sigh, nobody’s fault but my own. However, I think it’s worth mentioning that due to the way the glass vessel is mostly encased in a plastic overwrap, very few shards of glass escaped, most stayed in place in the plastic. That made the cleanup very much easier. It’s a pity I have destroyed this so soon, but I will likely buy another, the product itself was great.
