As an Amazon Prime customer I frequently order online. Living 30 miles from the nearest “big box” store, I like theconvenience (and gas savings) of having Fedex/UPS drop my purchase on my doorstep.I have ordered everything from computer parts to shaving soap, but I have never before felt compelled to write a review. So, why start now?The french press itself is great, exactly as advertised. I will let other reviewers tell you about the product.I want to tell you about Sterling Pro’s customer service. Before I got shipping confirmation from Amazon, I got an e-mail from Sterling Pro, advising me that the product had been shipped. Two days later I got another e-mail asking if I had received the shipment on time. It actually came a day earlier than expected.Jason at Sterling Pro included instructions on “how to” return the product, if it was defective, or broken – It wasn’t.He also suggested Youtube videos that demonstrated the best way to get a great cup of coffee from the french press.I did watch the videos, but in all honesty, the instructions printed on the box were more than sufficient.I am 75 years old. Like most of us I have come to expect, and grudgingly accept, zombie-like sales clerks and/or robotic on-line vendors, but I do remember the days when this wasn’t so.Jason at Sterling Pro has given me renewed hope that customer satisfaction has not completely disappeared from the American landscape. Now that I have tried french press coffee I will never go back to percolator, or Mr. Coffee, again.I have finally been able to brew a cup of coffee that tastes as good as it smells. For those of you who are considering a french press for the first time and think it is too much work, think again.I put the water on the stove to heat. While it is warming I grind enough beans to make a pot. I use a manual hand crank grinder (the only way to go) and by the time the water is hot I am through grinding.I put the ground coffee in the press, add the water, stir and let it brew for 3 minutes. Then, I depress the plunger, pour and enjoy the fruits of my labor.Doing “all of that” takes less time and is more fun than pacing back and forth in front of a Mr. Coffee and there is no comparison between drip coffee and french press brew.Try it – you’ll love it.
